The pieces in the larger Gestural series really take over a space where ever they are displayed. The very delicate yet bright overlays of color slipped in between six layers of clear glass magnify and illuminate the light and colors within. The overlays of color are carefully layered in between the clear glass along with two bubbles, inserted opposite each other. As the piece is heated up and spun, the bubbles open up and become the cavities, or negative spaces, on each side of the piece. These cavities cause the colors and light to bounce throughout the piece and its shadows, and also control the forming of the final shape.
